stupid campus police!!

Parking shortages and the distance from the lots to my classes were the reason that I buzzed around campus (and from one campus to a nearby campus) on a bicycle most of the time. No parking hassles at all. Park at the front door, go to class, walk outside after class, and ride away.

Of course, the distance from my residence to campus was only about 5 miles, and if your drive was considerably longer, biking might not be doable.

Feel free to put it on my car. Then I would feel free to put my foot in your a*s. Ok I am just kiddin, I did alot of the same things when I was your age but the older I got the more I realized what I was doing did affect other people. What if it was a teachers spot you were parking in and then they couldnt find another spot. You just made there day alot harder for no reason other than your selfishness. I am not saying what you did was all that bad but come on all ready grow up alittle. As for the comment about the police only having a high school education you better be carefull because there are plenty of intellagent people (some on this site) with less school education. Also with your college education you still aren't smart enough to figure out right from wrong.

i did that for a while...however, now they college imposed some new policy that says you half to pay to ride and park your bike anywhere on campus. so basically they are backing people into a corner either way. not to mention i cant ride at the moment cause im scheduled for reconstructive surgery on my wrist on the 22nd of this month.

only reason i know what a boot is is from the simpsons where homer goes to new york to get his car that barney drunkenly left there and he ended up missing the parking officer and driveing away with the boot on and when he got to the construction site he jackhammered it off

and ontop of that parking where i go to school sucks hardcore.....so many violations cause of how ****ty its setup the people just stoped giveing tickets...unless im just luck and never got one

College parking sucks. At Kent, they OVERSELL parking passes assuming not everyone will park in a lot at the same time. HA! I spend $150 for 2 semesters, and still have to walk 1/2 mile to class? No thanks.

I say if they want to f**k with you, f**k with them back. At kent, though, we have parking services peeps, the real hardcore university cops do real hardcore work (like arrest underage drinkers who are walking around on friday nights).

I found a fun way around getting tickets: when you transfer the plates on your new vehicle, get temp tags and park where you shouldn't. You'll rack up about 3-4. Then get a new set of temp tags, and 3-4 more tickets. Etcetera. Kent holds registration payment and/or drops schedules if you have outstanding tickets, and according to them I only had 2 (when in reality I had like 12-13).

This semester, I have perfected the art of buying a book, photocopying pertinent parts (free copies with my Library pass), and then returning the book for full price. Saves me hassle!

Man, I sure DO have senioritis!!!

Well before this gets too serious:::

My college days were marked by such events as being gouged by the school store for used and new books (and the courses changed text books if used books became too plentiful). Charged damage fees for a break-in to the campus pub during Summer break. Not being hired for work-study because they had an EO quota. And other sorted events that seperated me from my educational money. Yes it really was that bad. And no I don't think it would be out of line to install the boot on the Dean's car :haha: :haha: :haha:

i agree with u camo about very intelligent people being a part of this countries civil services...i have a few very close friends that are employed within them. funny thing is they know about what i did shortly after and were laughing there ass off about it..and i wish you were right about not enough faculty parking, however, at this campus there is an over abundance. and i do know the difference between right and wrong...as stated before, i never said i was in the right...but it doesnt make it any less amuzeing;)..

Bottom line colleges want your $$$$
they make you pay to ride a bike that sucks

What school do you go to? I think this is funny ****. Keep the boot until they tell you to give it back. The parking situation here is ****ing pathetic. You pay around $250 PER SEMESTER to park 1/2 an hour's walk away from you classes. **** that. They dont bother with boots here though, they give you 2 or 3 $40 tickets then start towing you. I dont even bother buying a parking permit, I ride the bus to campus and walk. Our parking cops are ****ing pathetic. "Wha wha wha we are just doing our job" which means a 400 pound high school dropout zipping up behind you on a moped when you park on the side of the road for 5 minutes to help someone carry stuff up to their dorm room. Here someone was making shirts that said "PTS SUCKS" (parking/transportation services) and the shirts became so popular that they changed the name to something else with different initials.

One thing I'm surprised nobody has caught onto -- We have a 20s something woman who's truck has big enough tires that a boot doesn't fit?

Hmmmmm!

Anyways, I'd tend to be half way on the fense this way. I agree that educational institutions are brutal in the way they rob you of every penny they possibly can, and that parking there sucks hardcore. However, I don't believe that stealing the boot and not paying up was such a great idea -- Could quite possibly get you into more trouble than it is worth in simple amusement!
