Burbanator, you better watch out. The self-ritcheous masses that reside above imperfection will have your ass for this. I expect that you will be asked to leave the list, sell your truck and revoke your rights to have testicles.
 
If someone had tied a 'boot' to my truck with rope I'd have done the same thing...those things are expensive and being so badly secured I'd want to make sure it didn't get stolen or vandalized. Surely I'd be doing the parking dude a favor by keeping it safe. :D

This is just a bit of college fun, something someone with a sense of humor would find amusing. It's not like she hasn't aknowledged that her parking choices were wrong, and it's not like any permanent harm will come to the boot.

I expect a bit of irreverence and a touch of anarchy from young people in college. It's character building...plenty of time later in life to start dotting i's and crossing t's and becoming a stick in the mud.

im not worried at all. if they want to drive over 300 miles for 20 bucks let em. she already got her diploma, she's just down there for work till the 25th then she comes home. i just think its a lame ticket which i why i wrote "yea right". the security there is a joke any way. it is a good school though.

I'm a college student too. Just wondering, if I were to borrow a PAVEMENT ENDS sign soon, where would it look good on my truck? Its DOT yellow. I'm thinking of putting it on the inside ceiling.. I want it on the roof as I go through the mud bog, but I think cops will get pissy :p: :D

Oh man, some of you guys are taking this way too seriously. I think she's gonna do the right thing and return the boot, pay the fines, etc. She is just having a laugh. Whatever training that "parking enforcement" dude had needs to be posted on the internet so we can all read about applying a boot to an oversized tire with rope. LOL

As far as campus parking, when I was at UCF, student body was about 33,000 with available parking spaces numbering 2500. You tell me how to fit 13 cars in one spot? Not to mention about 400 of those spots were in the "mud lot", which would have been awesome if I had my K5 back then.

So everyone take a deep breath, sit back and realize that this is a pretty funny story, and remember the good ole days of college.
 
Texas, eh? I REALLY hope it was UTSA cops you did this to...them guys are wangs. They never had enough parking for all the students....and they didn't try to fix it...course, this wasn't very long ago either.

Meh, I would've taken the boot, too. Hell, wipe your prints off it and leave it in front of the campus police office with a picture of an ass. Hahaha!!

And you gleaned this from the misspellings?:D :haha: It has been my experience that those who think they are "sticking it to the man" usually get it stuck back up their keister twice as bad later. I'm a big supporter of being humorous, and have always been a little rebellious, but sometimes one has to use a bit of discretion. I would hate to see this person find out later that they had exacerbated the situation far beyond something small just to try and make a silly point.
 
As a former campus ticket writer, I totally support her decision to take the boot if they are stupid enough to tie it with rope on her truck then they are complete idiots. If I was the chief or whoever the boss is I would fire the idiots who did it and throw away her tickets. I do think she should give it back maybe offer them a trade:D. Thats like arresting some one and putting them in the front seat of your car not cuffed with the keys in the ignition and then wondering why they took off with your car.:doah:

Why? Shes not antagonizing anyone and is being extremely civil even though everyone is getting all butthurt and calling her names. This thread has been entertaining but it should probably be axed.

So someone please critique the Cliff Notes version................

-Dumbass has no clue on how to properly park.

-Same dumbass feels like an institution owes them something, even though they are paying for their services.

-Same dumbass has not reached the point in their life where they realize that if they don't like the price they pay, they can take their money somewhere else.

-Same dumbass thinks that stealing is okay.

-Same dumbass makes some off the wall comment about vandalizing some government property, i.e. taxpayer paid property.

Did I miss anything?

Hopefully the next abortion of a thread will tell us a tale about how unpaid parking fines resulted in the removal of their vehicle by a legit towing company resulting in more money paid out by the dumbass, several criminal charges against said dumbass and expulsion from this institue of higher learning.

Conclusion is it's expensive being stupid.

What he said. There's an appropriate outlet for this thread. Even I make mistakes of posting in the worng forum, but I at least identify it and the thread gets moved accordingly.

Anyways, the root of this whole thing: you feel that you don't need to follow the rules.

Nough said. Talk to me about 4 or 5 years earlier and I would have thought the boot was neat. But right now it's just stupid.

I think a "legit" tow company might be a good call. Shame you can't call out the repo man on delinquent parking tickets.

I gotta agree with camok5.

I have 3 boys (Still very young) and if one of them did this I would drag their sorry butts into the school to pay the fines and apologize for being a royal pain in some guys a$$.

You know the rule so why be a prick? Just get there 5 min or 20 min what ever it takes earlier and park where you should.
