well, i didnt expect this thread would get so much action, just wanted to tell a funny story....but just fyi, apparently the campus police have more humor than you do....i went to pay my fines today and return the boot, as i said i would. they were so thrilled that i actually paid and returned the thing that when i asked if it was at all possible to keep it for a couple days and get some off the wall photos they agreed..as long as it was back by thursday. they took down what remaining info they needed and everyone ended up happy... SO THERE!!

At least you can say this is the longest thread in a while here....

That's good. Now please volunteer yourself as a bayonet training target and life will be good:waytogo:

first... you are screwed up... you were wrong.. you knew what you were doing was wrong but you made a CHOICE to do it anyway... and then you criticize when the people whose job it is to show immature people like yourself that what youre doing is stupid... what arrogance and immaturity

and then you compound your stupidity but taking a BS little infraction and turning it into a felony... grand theft, vandalism etc... boots cost over 500.00... a good felony here in California

are you so dumb that you dont think there isnt a record of your vehicle being booted and that the poleeces might not get a little concerned when PUBLIC PROPERTY that they are responsible for is GONE???? Especially a smaller department like campus police.... btw if they are sworn they have the same powers as "real" police and can book your lil butt just like big bad city poleeces

And now you really take the cake and tell the rest of us about how stupid you are thinking that we are going to tell you how cool that was... some people on here might but when they think about what you did and how selfish acts like yours only cost the rest of us they might not be so quick to approve of your actions

As i see it you have 2 options... continue to be stupid,,, or fess up,, take it in and tell them youre going to be a WOman and make it right...hopefully you wont get an arrest record... though at this point,,, I doubt it
What a knucklehead

UPDATE...

JMETI000,
I’d love to see some pics too! Don’t worry about all the self righteous peeps in the thread either. I’d be willing to bet that every member here has done something “illegal” in their life such as make an unauthorized turn or U turn, not completely stop at a stop sign, drive above the posted speed limit, or even the worst of all crimes; park in the wrong spot.

Man I can just see all the cranky people red faced pounding on their keyboards.

First off, SHES A WOMAN DONT SCARE HER AWAY!

Secondly, scoop the sand out of your twats and lighten up.

Thirdly, she fessed up and paid the ****, aparently she knew how they would react better than the infinately wise CK5 posse.

I really think you guys have missed one very valid point here, and that she is now telling Steve to screw-off because she feels that her priviledged little a$$ can post lounge material in the garage. So, by advocating her actions, you are sending a message to all that the rules here don't apply and showing complete disrespect to the boss. If she would have paid her dues and posted in the lounge, I wouldn't give a sh!t what she said or done.

I too actually attend UT Austin. I've put in my time; been here four years. Although the campus parking is not exactly setup for students, there are places for students to park (if they aren't lazy). The student parking lots have open spots for people who get up and make it to campus by 9am. There are also campus shuttles running all over the city, to and from parking lots, and all over campus (not to mention the city buses are free for UT students). I've never had the need to park illegally during the time I've been in Austin. There are also neighborhoods North of UT with plenty of parking at less than 1 mile of walking (not to mention the campus shuttles run down Red River St. every 20mins there also).

That aside, the PTS at UT is an office full of people who make it hard on students. They oversell parking passes for the lots, and undersell the parking garages all over campus (which took the place of once-student lots). These garages are an extra couple of bills each semester and are for faculty first, students second. When my brother was still at UT, we had to break nails in order to get our garage parking pass moved to a garage near the Engineering buildings (they undersell the garages so a certain number of extra spots are open to then charge $8 a day for people to use).

As for the bicycles, last I checked the passes for riding a bike were free. I registered my bike's serial number and received a permit sticker. From what I know, these permits were to help reduce the theft of bicycles and further organize the theft claims the campus Police have to handle. It gives the school a way to document serial #s of student's bikes in case one is recovered from some bum riding around Austin. I personally ride my bike to class and haven't had to pay a cent in order to do so...

**** 'em, park were you want to.

Campus cops are a$$holes, they have a little bit of power and they think there $hit don't stink...
Most city cops are that way too...but county cops seem to be the coolest!!

oh yeah, I almost forgot about state cops (Highway Patrol) most of them are a$$holes too.

Try walking the same distance but cut anywhere from 40-90 degrees off the air temp. Have a nice day.

Well, I agree with both sides here.

You were wrong for parking where you should not be parking. You know that. You got fined. OK. Lesson learned, park somewhere else.

Now, I hate those money hungry campuses too. They are instructed to write as many tickets as possible without appeal. They are usually trying to use that to fund a new building or something.

I used to go to UMD at College Park. I paid $145 a semester to park, and they to did not have as many spaces as parking permits. In 2000, UMCP got over 4 million in revenue from parking fines. I got hit for a ticket once. $200 - for illegally entering or exiting a gate controlled lot. I started typing the story here, but realized its too long. It involved me driving over a culvert to get into the lot they had shut down for a basketball game that was 5 hours later. I had to suck it up and pay for it.

Im glad your school had more of a sense of humor about it.

Good luck in school and have fun.

I guess I am missing the point! I’ve accidentally posted in the wrong area before and someone moved the post to the appropriate place. It wasn't that big of a deal then, but it is now? How many other people have done this? She’s new here, hell, she has so few posts that half of what she does have is in this thread! I don't see where she told someone to “screw off” but then I also missed that she wasn’t a “he” until half way through the thread. :doah:

I'm guessing the bike fee he is referring to is for motorcycles...there are parking permits you pay for to ride your motorbike to UT.

I'm not trying to say the parking situation around here isn't bad; but the thread was a bit misleading as to available parking. There are always places to go for free and legally. Not many students, however, choose to seek out these places (which is probably why they are still available to use).

The most ingenious person I've known who managed to get away with free spots was my older brother. He used to park his Porsche (in my avatar) in the parking garages during the day if he was studying late, then drive under the parking rails late when he left (his car was setup for SCCA DE's and it is very low to the ground). He also managed to have a friend scan and print a parking pass for him to use at an apt. complex near campus. Always worked...Hook em'

Maybe she should have caught on by now that she's in the wrong place? Although, she admits to several parking violations too, so I don't think we're dealing with the sharpest tool in the shed. She never said "screw off", but knowingly violating rules sends that message, in my opinion.

And I guess since it's cool to post lounge BS in the garage, I have no reason to renew my membership when it's due...

If you are so pissed about this being in the garage dont ****ing read it. Dont renew your membership, who gives a ****. I imagine by now she knows its in the wrong place but gawdam she cant move it so wtf is your purpose in being so pissy?

Robert D, while that color has no business anywhere on any vehicle that is badass he was able to drive under the gates.

I ask again, are you Austinites in LHOR?
