The rear driveshaft is torqued on my truck, so I've took it off. My dumb question is it wont hurt anything to make short trips with the hubs locked on in 4 high will it?? Just temporary untill I can get to Virgina an pick up my new blazer.......
No, as long as the rear shaft is out your fine. Your case is fully engaged but your essentially a 2 wheel drive with the front axle doing the work. When I had my rear shaft balanced I had to drive 40 miles to the shop so I popped in 4-wheel and drove on the front shaft. That's how a lot of people troubleshoot rear shaft imbalance - take it out and drive on the front to see if the vibration has gone away.
