so, i went to replace the wheel bearings on the k5, and the spindle nut in the hub will not come out for the life of me. its almost frozen stuck in there or something? i got the spindle nut socket, and it wont budge! wtf? any ideas on how to free it up??:confused:

Impact wrench? Get a friend to push in on the socket and you work the brekaer bar or vice versa if he's tougher than you:wink1: Sounds like it might be crossthreaded if it's that tight.

Make sure the two spindle nuts are not lined up, causing the socket to grab both nuts at the same time.

to make matters even worse, i had to do a trail fix awhile back with a broken hub/wheel bearing go out, well i only had a screwdriver and a hammer to get those 2 nuts loose. so they have some nice little grooves in them, causing the big socket to want to slip off. i really do need an extra set of hands (help is on the way) AND i have to take the socket back, because i rented it, $81 later, but i get it back and they close at 9.. damn it!
thanks for the input guys
