stupid oil pressure gauge

My oil pressure gauge is always pegged. I have heard this is because the wire shorts out. Where do I look for the short?

dont waste your time, pull the sensor out of the block and put in an after market mechanical oil pressure gague...

Start at the sender and work your way back till you get to the cluster, It could either be a bad sender or a shorted out wire. The sender is in the back behind the distrubutor on the block.

Im gonna swap it out soon but I want it to work till I do.
