aiming for about 6-7 inches to clear fore dees' :wink1:

I have some unknown front springs that look to be about 3-4 inches, and just picked up a set of custom (stock length) 4" rear springs...

Now i was gonna go buy new front springs...
But why settle for the usual...

So...
If i use these "stock" 4" lift spring from the rear ( are these a 52"? ) (the ones i just got used) in the front I can buy some 56's for the back correct?

I'm gonna do a shackle in the back with a smaller lift spring and zero rate...

???'s

1 -How much should i expect lift wise from this 4" rear lift spring in the front... (with zero rate)
2 - what would i order from (year model etc...) to get a 56" for the rear that will work with a shackle flip to net 6 inches total (plus zero rate)
3 - a shackle flip with stock shackle size gives 2 inches???

There is no way for us to know which aftermarket "custom" spring you have. You need to measure the spring you have from eye to eye & see if they are 52" or 56". Measure with the arch not straight across.

If you are working on a k5 it should have 52" rears & 48" fronts stock.

1. 52's up front net you 4"s so a 4" lifted one would get you about 8" + a 1" zero rate equals 9" total

2. Depends on which shackle flip you have or are going to buy. Any company worth their salt should be able to sell you a 56" spring. They came under every 3/4 & 1-ton truck & a lot of long bed half tons between 73-87.

3. Once again depends on which shackle flip you run. ORD makes 4" & 2.5" I think Kert's is 4-5".

By the way what in the hell is a fore dees'?

40's :)

So i dont need the 52 inch 4" lift springs for the rear... cause i dont want 8 inches of lift...

Sounds like i need a 2 inch 52 for the front...
But i could take my stock rear spring, and use it up front... for 4 inches...
---

what about the 56's in the rea.. do they do the same thing? more lift out of the box?

A little searching will tell you all you ever wanted to know about the 52-56" topic. They net the same amount of lift.

Why type out fore dees when you could type 40?? I don't get it.

i thought it was funny...

I have been searching :)
And no where did i see anyone posted "They net the same amount of lift" untill now.

Nor did i find out how far about i need to move my rear shackle back...

edit -

And try doing a search for 52" and 56" - it's too short... :thumb:

i searched for "inch springs" and found some good stuff...
It's the -52"- that isnt searchable...

I'm more or less trying to see, if when i put on either a 2.5 or 4 inch shackle flip (now thanks to you it looks like a 2.5 cause a 56" give my 4 inches) how far i need to move it back and if i need to do anything to the front hanger...

56's don't give you any lift in the rear. Only in the front.

On the rear it still depends on which shackle flip you have, & how long of a shackle you want to run. It is trail & error. Just buy the flip & the springs & move the flip till you get the shackle angle right.
