tryed cleaning it and the pulleys with brakekleen and to no avail. power steering pump belt still slips and squeels. and yes its tight. should i just tose the belt and get another one?

Yeah I would get another belt.Sounds like the atf was on your belt awhile

I had the same problem. I used a degreaser (like an all purpose)cleaner. Spay it on let it sit for a couple of mins,and then spray the cleaner off with a hose.

start your truck and take a bar of soap to the bottom side othe the belt . no more squeel's .

sounds dangerous. i have a sharp flex fan. i'm not so much concered about the squeal as i am the slipping. can't hardly turn the wheel in the driveway. going to go swap on a different belt now before it gets dark.
