Stupid question. Ive got a 14 bolt 1 ton rear end. Im looking for a tough front end to compliment the massive 14 bolt. I have done searches on the dana fronts, but i cant figure out which one im looking for. Can someone please let me know which Dana front end is a strong 1 ton? Im looking at putting 5.13 gears, and a detroit locker in it.
thanks,
Mike the rookie

looks like your looking for a dana 60 front. Make sure you get a kingpin chevy axle to make your life easier. Dodge 60 work but require some modifications.

thanks for your reply, is the name of the axle kingpin chevy axle dana 60?

When looking for an axle just ask for a GM 1-Ton Dana 60 model front axle housing . All GM front Dana 60's are of the king/pin open knuckle design. These front ends were offered from 1977 to 1991 in all solid axle GM 1-Ton 4WD trucks.
Good luck on your search ! They can get exspensive but there are deals to be found.
