Stupid steering

Well the last few days my truck has been acting a tad different on and off. When i turn even in a parking lot from medium to sharp turns as i am turing the wheel its like it gets caught for only a split second then keeps turnign. It happens a few times in a row in a turn, what would be causing this?

check your power steering fluid first off.. is the pump whining at all??

There is a whining noise almost like a squeaking whiel i drive and when i speed up its seems to speed up but its coming from the front of the engine area but i cant tell with all that stuff what it is???

Have you checked the belt tension on the PSP? Sounds like a slipping belt is causing the PSP to momentarily stop working.

i tightened it bec it was very loose and the steering prob went away and ill see if the squealing goes away. it sounded better though just listening to it.
