I have an sm465 hooked to an np205. My question is what would I have to do to the 205 to make it work with an automatic?

Get a TH350 or TH400 and an adapter plate. If you get the 700R4 you can make it work by modifying a bunch of stuff. I'll let someone more knowledgeable explain that...

It looks like Advance Adapters has a kit to do it. $276.00 Thanks for the help guys.

A TH350 and TH400 would require dif stuff to be done.

TH350- You'd need a tranny and then the adaptor and then swap input on your 205 case.

TH400- You'd need a tranny and then the adaptor and then a whole new
TH400 version 205 case. OR tear yours completely down and machine it to work with the 400 adaptor.

The th350 swap would be much easier and I'd consider leaving your case in tact and selling or trading it for the right one.

Not certain on the crossmembers.
Pedels would need modying as would the shifter need set up.

I appreciate the help but I picked up a 400/205 combo so I have no use for the 465/205 now. I guess it's going into the "for sale" pile.

Ok, ok, ok so let me get this straight guys. Take my set up I have a th350 np208. I have a Np205 sitting under a tarp ready to go in....I just need to change the out put in my tranny. Now MUDSTUD you said

So instead of changing the out put shaft on my th350 I could just change the input on my np205????????? If that so give me a part number. I already have shafts lined up for it.

Depending on what version 205 you have you may need to do both, change tranny output and t-case input.

Well what really needs to happen is the tranni need to get a shorter shaft installed so I can mount it up to the Np205 I have (I also need to buy the adapter and 10 spline to 27 spline drivesleeve) to make it all work. I was hoping that there was a female input for the np205 that would delete all of that. I wonder how much it would cost to have a machine shop make me one.:rolleyes:

Now I'm confused. In your original post you said you had a 465/205. In this post you said th350/208. What are we talkin bout here?

AFAIK there is no sleeve that goes 10 spline to 27 spline. IF there does happen to be one available then you would only need to swap the output shaft in the trans. If there isn't a 10 spline to 27 spline sleeve then you'll need to swap the input in the t-case to a 27 spline as well. You're going to also need the TH250/205 adapter.

Sorry I got the np205 out of a truck that had a 465 in it.....My set up is a th350 np208.
