Doing the 63" swap on my 88 suburban, already flipped the DIY4X shackle flip from end to end, so with my 56" springs the shackle is basically straight up and down, so that end of the truck is all set. Now for the front mount, I've read I move it 5" forward, how did you all set that up so the holes are perfect side to side and the the rear end housing doesn't end up out of alignment for driving on the highway? If you have pics from a suburban frame and how it looks moved up that would be excellent. I'm assuming I don't reuse any of the frame bolt holes either?:thumb:

Let me round up some pictures.
I moved the front hanger forward where I could use the top rear hanger bolt hole in the top front hole in the frame. Then I moved the rear back according to the shackle angel I liked.

With this set up I liked how far back my rear axle was moved according to the center pin.

Here is a shot of pass side. By using the factory hole it was square with the other side and a few measurements I took to the front of the frame.

All I had to do was set the rear where I thought was best for the angle I wanted

I removed my rivets, used the front holes in the frame for the rear holes of the mount. Drilled a few new ones frame and bolted it in. Only pics I have are on my build thread.

how about e-mailing them to me? lol Been searching all the other threads and they really don't show much about how they're moved, besides one guy I saw that welded the bracket to the frame and I'd rather bolt it.

didn't see any pics in the threads that showed up searching your screen name. Any chance you could post some up in here? Or anyone else for that matter?

I don't think you can view the pics in Kieth's "Twinkie" build without being a member, but here is a link to his build thread. Rear end swap begins about post 108 or so. CLICKY

Yeah post number 108 has a really good picture of it you can see where the original holes are and how I moved the mount.

Check out the beginning of my build thread in my sig for some pics.
When swapping in 64" springs instead of 52" or 56" you need to relocate the front hanger 6" forward to keep the axle in its stock location.

excellent pictures Fred, but on the suburban it has a body mount right in the general area of where you moved the front mount forward too, just looking for a really clear pic on either side if people modded the mount or it fit and I'm just over-analyzing it. Need this truck for my small business so I can't have it down for a few weeks, and would like to knock it out in under 3 days at the most, lol....but things always pop up I know.

I did mine in like a day really a few hours but had alot apart at the time.

on a side note spend the $25 its worth it.

I took that mount out, its not even bolted to the body. I do plan on putting back it, but its just a support

oh ok, i wondered why your pics didn't match what was under my suburban lol. Although it looks like on the drivers side it did mount to the body, I'll have to double check that though.
