A freind of mine just got an 84' sub silverado he plans on parting out. It's 2wd 2500 series with 8 lugs 6.2/th400 and tow package. I have yet to see it and he's not too up on describing things over the phone. What are the chances it has a 14b out back? I'm thinking it does. Also, what type of gears would you guess were in it, assuming it's facotry?

Will prolly be a 14B *semifloat*, though.

Gears for a diesel are likely lower than for gasser, like 3.08:1 or 3.73:1, IIRC.

My Burb matches all that exactly except GMC. It came with a 14bSF and 4.10 gov-lock.

So lets say it has 3.73 or less (or more, whatever)gears, would it be worth it to replace my rear 10b and find a new front 10b with matching gears? Or just pass it on and keep my 10b w/govbomb.
