suburban rear fender trim..

I posted this in the suburban forum also I have a 1989 suburban thats getting a 4" lift and 39" iroks id like to trim the fenders like this
my question is what do you guys do with the sheet metal (inner quarter) behind the lower quarter near the bumper just cut it and close it back off or just leave it all open could you post some pics of what you did thanks
