anyone know where i can get rear heater hoses for a suburban. my 88 suburban doesn't have the lines going to the rear heater in the back of the truck anymore and the stealership wants $247 for them. ouch. Anyone know how i could rig some up or any other way to get them functioning before winter?

What part is broken? I replaced a long section of mine with regular heater hose sold by the foot at Napa. I ran it through some Conduit to keep it from getting punctured again. I don't see why you couldn't replace the whole run with regular hose if you protect it.

well since this truck was originally from southern cali, it doesn't have ANY of the hoses anymore attached. don't know if it didn't come with them or they sprung a leak and just got rid of the whole length. I know my old 91 suburban had them but they rotted out from midwestern winters. so you guys think i could run 30 feet of heater hoses from the front to back for send and return with no issues if i covered them with plastic wire loom or something similar?

Everyone around here just uses bulk heater hose, just like 6.2 said. I've actually never seen anything but regular heater hose used for those heaters.

ok guess i'll be making a run for bulk heater hoses. 3/4" and 5/8" right? anyone put any valves in there to stop coolant flow in case they leak?

There is actually a stock on in there already IIRC

anyone have a chevy manual that would have diagrams for these? my chiltons book is not helping me with this at all.

would that show a diagram for the rear heater hose routing and whatever valves are under the hood?

Yeah it shows a couple pics of the stuff, I'll dig my scanner out of the closet in the morning and scan them. Pm me your email addy and I'll email them to you in the morning

Pretty good diagram in the LMC catalog on pg 106.

I did add a ball valve to mine. I wanted a way to shut it off if needed. The factory valve is supposed to but I didn't trust it if I was out in the backwoods and lost a hose.

edit: nevermind i found the diagram in my suburban catalog that i have at home. still shows the hoses at 150 a piece though. ouch.
