Hi everyone, I would like to (properly) add a third row seat to my 1976 Suburban. I've got the brackets for the "pop out" type seat, the seat itself, and the shoulder belts. I was hoping someone could provide me with the measurements of where the brackets in the floor should go and where/how the shoulder belts are attached to the bed sides. I got all of these parts years ago and no longer remember how everything went together. My truck already has all of the mounts for the upper parts of the shoulder belts, but came with lap belts and no rear seat. Not long after my dad bought it in 1985 my grandpa gave him a rear seat out of an older Suburban that they drilled holes for and bolted in, but that seat was long gone before I got the truck (my brother unfortunately left it outside when he owned the truck and it got destroyed and subsequently thrown out).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Idk if there area where the sholder belts need to be anchored is reinforced on a 76.

I was going to this on my 77 back in the day, had the seat but not the bracket buckets. Planned on only lap belts.

If i were going to do it today I'd start with a 1999-2007 subruban 3rd row seat. This generation seat has the belt in corporateted to the seat.
The donor vehicle bracket coukd be used, or sime fabbed several samples here at CK5

In 1976, there were no factory should belt provisions for the 3rd row. You would want to scavenge that from a 1989-91 model year and I have one in the process of getting cut up posted in the classified section. I will take a look at it today and see if it is something to cut out and weld in or if you can simply add a washer and rivetnut in the existing sheetmetal.

Thanks for the replies so far. When I removed the interior trim years ago I discovered the provisions for the upper bolt (like @kennyw pictured) were already in place for all three rows. It's why I decided to switch to shoulder belts when I restore the interior, that and it'll be safer for my kids. I've got stock retractor assemblies for the third row, it's just been so long since I removed them from a truck I don't remember where/how they attached to the bed sides. As @Wes Harden said, the area might not be reinforced, but if I could get pictures of what it looks like I could probably fabricate reinforcement for it.
