Suburban Rock Sliders

Most likely. But it won't be right away but before blazer bash. I'm in the middle of an axle swap.
Perfect! I just bought a house so my bank account needs to recover for a little while anyway. Keep me posted on when this is happening!

Just checking to see if there has been any progress on the sliders. Any updates?

Just an update. The rock sliders will have to wait till after blazer bash. I'm running out of time and inherited another project.

Sure wish I was closer to Kurt. My Burb doesn't have a spot of rust on it and needs some rock sliders. :doah:

I would run the bushing at the body if you plan to connect a cage to the frame. That is if you want bushings. I'm hard mounted mine. The bushing at the frame will allow the cage and body to shift drastically if you even rolled.

I'm debating this now as well.

My rockers are spotless. But I'm not above cutting them out. I like Muddysubs design but I'm leaning towards 2x6 welded in place of the rockers.

Fully weld the door sill to it all the way down and leave the fender loose. I figure that's the best comprise between the ability to drop it on its side and stiffen the body up so it will support a no door scenario.

Out of curiosity, does anyone make a good set of nerf bars for the our burbs? I bought and installed a set last year and they are total junk. They are flimsy and rattle and deflect a LOT when you step on them...and I am a pretty average size (6'-200lb).

Tis the nature of "nerf bars", they are cosmetic. For true sliders try Kert ( @cybrfire ) at diy4x.com

I have. Sadly rock sliders for the burb are not yet part of the product lineup.

I would think the underside of a Sub is just like a Blazer so they would probably mount the same. If they did, what about buying the mounting plates from Kert and weld your own tube to them.

That seems like a great idea if the burb is the same. Can anyone verify this? I would love to build my own using pre-made brackets. Then you would have the option of doing round tube or square tubing.

Check out this video, it shows the underside of a Blazer pretty good.

I would totally agree! The brackets are the hard part haha

I actually have a blazer with DIY4X sliders on it. I added a cage to them, but still have the sliders intact.

The K5 is down at my buddy's house 90 miles away. Next time I'm down there ,ill get some measurements and see if the mounting would be the same. Obviously the length will be different and mounting measurements different. But hopefully the same brackets could be used. Then maybe Kert would offer the brackets for sale.

I'm away from my Burb and K5 right now, but I remember them being different under there. The burb floor and supports that butt up to the rocker have some truck-like similarities to them.
