I have not been here in a very long time. Mainly due to a severely disabled 5yr old son.
I have a question for those that have cut off the roof of a squarebody (73-91)Suburban. I have a 1989 2500 Suburban that I absolutely love. Problem is the roof has some rust holes. I am thinking of either replacing it with one from another 'burb 'or' using panel bond and gluing patches in from the bottom and having the top sprayed with bed liner.
Does anyone have any pics of the inner structure of the seams? are they pinch welded or just glued/bondo? I know the door jams seams are pinch welded, but dont know about the pillar seams.
Thanks for any help
Lance

The last time I cut a roof off of a suburban the sides fell off. But, it was just a rust bucket from Minnesota.

Not sure if this will help you....

Maybe hit up the junk yard and cut out the panels you need then find a way to cut and weld em in...then if your welds are ugly you can go the bed liner rout :D

I have two suburbans im about to chop up, send me some picks and ill cut you some patch panels.
