My buddy just picked up a 76 3/4 ton Sub, and needs it to be towed down to his place. My question is, will my 90 V2500 Sub tow it? The trailer in question doesn't have brakes, I think. The 76 doesn't have an engine.
It will tow it but stopping isn't going to be fun without trailer brakes. One more thing to think about, if the trailer doesn't have brakes, there's a good chance it's not rated to haul a Suburban either.

I don't think it's a matter of being able to pull it but being able to stop. The most I ever hauled with my suburban is a friends Pontiac to the track. Regardless to say it was a little hard to stop and you could easily overheat the brakes on the long downhill stretches.
True that, we pull my Sub without trailer brakes with a 03 2500HD with an 8.1. For the simple reason as he hasnt put the brake controller on the truck yet. Moving it isnt the hard part, its the stopping part. If you do it, just leave PLENTY of room ahead of you and take your time, its not a race.
brakes on 1990 blazers/suburbans are barely good enough for themselves, towing with no trailer brake can be done but leave lots of room, ive got a 1990 blazer that i tow a 12 foot utility trailer that is about 2200 lbs. loaded, stops ok ,but i have lost the brakes on long downhills untill they cool off, spooky,i also tow a 21foot boat that has trailer brakes and the blazer/boat combo stops better and faster than the blazer by itself
