I've got a 99 suburban & here lately it won't start. I turn the key and get nothing, just a click. I can turn it off and try again and it might start. Sometimes it won't & it lasts for 5 minutes or so. It has started when I put it in neutral. I've found some vague info on the security system from the factory but nothing definite. I need some help. Any ideas? Battery & starter are new (less than 3 months) that's all I got. Thanks

The neutral safety switch could be worn out or out of adjustment.

On a few occasions my '00 k3500 wouldn't start and I disconnected the battery and let it sit for a few minutes then hook it back up and it always starts.

I haven't figured out exactly what's happening I just know how to fix it. Does disconnecting the battery help in your case?

I'm checking the NSS & as far as disconnecting the battery, I haven't tried that. I've got to check for power to the starter. I guess it's possible that my "new" rebuilt starter is bad. Thanks for the help.
