suburban

When I was 'burb shopping I saw a 1991 V1500 with a 5.7L(I know, not a diesel) and SM465/241 combo... looked stock. It appeared to be a fleet model, the grill was the single headlight correct for the 89-91's, floor had a vinyl mat, seats were all bench type with vinyl, no tint, and no AC. Can't remember if it had power windows or locks though.

I wouldn't be surprised if one could have ordered a Suburban with a 6.2 and manual trans.. just going to be hard to find.

well I dont think so , my dad bought it from my uncle and he bought it new he may have ordered it, not sure I'll call him and ask then post up

Suburbans with 4-spds are kinda rare so a 6.2 powered burb would be even more rare

Growing up all of our trucks were SM465's my family likes to shift HAHA

He said he ordered it with the 4-speed it also had every option available . I asked him why he ordered a 1/2 ton?? he said so it would ride good LOL

Tell me about it, the only one ive ever seen in CA was an 80 3/4t that i bought and parted all the drivetrain into a 76 blazer. Have not seen another 465'd burb before or since. Come to think of it it was a scottsdale and from what i know the 465 was the base trans choice so fleet vehs would most likely have them otherwise it would be a special order like my "new" 76 k5 was.

not sure about the 80's trucks but in the 70's The "base" trans was a 3-speed even in the 4x4's thats rare I've never seen one ever (4x4) A freind had an 82 stepside GMC that had a 4-speed but not an SM465 it was overdrive 4-speed the only one I've ever seen of those and I've yet to see any literature on it ???

I would really like to build a Burb with a Turbo'd 6.2 with a 4-speed and one tons . talk about a cool tow rig/DD !!!

Bro had a 84 1/2 ton 6.2 witha 4 speed. wasn't the sm465 though, Some other 3speed w/ O.D. A Borg Warner i believe.

No help about the Burb . Seen manuals and Diesels but not together.

Some of the 80's half ton pickups got a Mopar 4 speed OD trans. Wasn't the last word in strength and they had a VERY low towing capacity. They're rare but are encountered. I saw a 6.2L with one last year...2wd though.

IIRC Diesel Burbs didn't get the SM-465. It's not difficult to convert it tho...did that to my 85 diesel burb when the 700r4 went out.

I remember years ago when I bagged food at a grocery store, some lady had an old brown Burb that was diesel and stick shift. I remember it being diesel cuz she left it running while she shopped so she wouldnt have to heat the glow plugs to get it going again (winter time). Up until a few years ago, it was the only manual Burb I had ever seen, and Burbs are all over the place in Washington. I cant remember if it was 4wd though. Might have just been a 3/4 ton and 2wd, but not sure.
