I scored a free mid or late 80's subaru legacy wagon. HELL YA! :saweet: anyways, has anyone here ever takin advantage of an oldschool suby bein AWD and doin something with it? im considering a slight lift somehow, hacking the hell out of the fenders :hack: :weld: :waytogo: and slappin some tires on this bad boy.....then hopefully having it put togther before the first snow. Im just lookin for any ideas. Thanks. DJ

Back Yard Boys makes a 3", 4", and 6" lift for 'em. They have adjusters on them stock that let U lift 'em about 1.5". If it's a 5spd dual range then U have 3.90 dif's, if it's an auto then they are 3.70's U can use the transfer case and front diff. from an old Datsun pick up and have about 70:1 crawl ratio :D
Chaeck out www.usmb.net and go to the forums, U can do ALOT with a Subaru.
I usteo wheel a turbo wagon w/DR 5spd, and it kicked @$$!!

my friend had one with 200k, wheeled the crap out of it and lasted a long time after that. it did really wheel offroad, with bald tires too....

I think if you want to be cool with the other Subaru folks you have to call it a "scooby"....

I have a buddy with a WRX, and that's about all I've learned so far.

....that and you'd better not mess with a Stage2 Scooby, cause you'll probably get spanked. :yikes:

Shawn (of Potent Rodent fame) has a wicked WRX these days. Seems like it's basically a street legal race car now... :eek1:

I had 28" Remington Mud Brutes on mine, welded rear diff. bumpers, roof rack, and a 3000# winch. The only thing that would stop me was BIG rocks. Mine was a little low for a rock crawler. I was BIG into Subarus for a while, kinda wish I had one now with gas as high as it's gotten :doah:
I have 3 friends that did the Rubicon in Subarus, I have the whole trip on vid. it's amazing what they can do off road when set up right :D
If U got to the web site in my sig. U can see my bumpers (on the snow coverd wagon) and my roof rack for these cars.
