Well, I went out on my annual deer hunt in Eastern Oklahoma for the past four days and got a real nice buck. It's a very heavy antlered 11 point. with 6"+ inch circumference bases. Actually, it is the biggest deer taken on the 12k acre ranch in the last 35 years. For the region/area it is a very nice deer. Here are the pics fo the kill.

DAMMMMMNNNN HOBY that is a real nice buck! How much do you think it weighs??

Did you or family pre-scout or did you just set up and pray something comes your way?

Thanks fellas. It weighed in at 130#'s dressed. That is a bit above average for the area we hunt. I got a buck last year on the same hunting lease that weighed in at 138#'s dressed but it was early on in the rut when most bucks hadn;t lost a lot of weight due to the lenghty rutting when weight loss can add up to as much as 15-20% of their total weight. This years buck may have weighed as much as 150lbs prerut which would have been huge weight wise.

I didn't pre-scout or anything. I have been hunting the same 1000 acre least for the past 10 years and know the property pretty well. I got it in my favorite area of the lease. It is deep down and full of cover and where I had seen deer moving quite a bit. Not to mention a very beautiful place to sit and watch wildlife go about its business with it not knowing you are there watching. Here are some more pics of the Camp and hunting that week.

Inside the camp "living room" where we cook, sit, and hangout. Out of the pic we have a nice wood stove to keep warm

And more pics. Computer won't let me do more than three at a time

This is the typical type of hilly, wooded, tangly wooded oak terrain we hunt in.

Nice Deer and looks like you ruff it during hunting season.

Welllllll............I tend to be a bit of a clean-freak so me not showering for 4-5 days gets to me a bit but yes the camp is about as well setup as you could ask for being that we have no power, running water, we crap in a hole in the ground and are about 15 miles from the nearest town. :wink1:
