I'm thinking about adding some simple stereo stuff to my Blazer but I don't know squat about audio stuff.

Wants:
Bluetooth
Weatherproof (no top!)
I'm thinking 4 speakers (?)
No head unit, I'll just use my Iphone.
Nowhere to mount speakers anymore so I'm kind of stuck with hanging sound bars or those pod style speakers from the roll bar.

Ideal budget: about $250-$300 (is this possible?)

I don't need a competition or crazy loud stereo, I just want something decent I can hear going down the road (open top / Boggers / old ears / etc).

I've been searching Amazon (lack of better idea) but the only brand I recognize (Pyle) has bad reviews.

I don't have any experience but looked at these for you.

So many monies! :doah: :rotfl: I forgot about Crutchfield.

I have a few non brand old school KC style lights that I've thought of putting marine speakers in, they'd have more character than a UTV pod speaker. I guess I need to go take one apart and see if anything would fit.

maybe something like this

I was looking at that set on Amazon, I just didn't recognize the name.

@bigblock454 I thought about portable speakers but I really don't have anywhere to put it. I'd also prefer to have something permanently mounted.

I wonder if you could connect 2 bluetooth sound bars together? They have a better look than the pods but I'm not sure if 1 would be enough?

I have a Bluetooth speaker that we use on the job site and it's waterproof so I toss it in my raft too. The instructions say multiple speakers can be paired together so it's definitely possible on certain brands.

For dad’s bronco we got a cheap Bluetooth only marine head unit with a marine amp and some cheap marine speakers. Not the best fidelity but that truck has dumped exhaust with no doors or top so not really worried about that.

I'm looking pretty hard at this sound bar - it has all the features, it's visually more appealing than those round UTV pods and the rear facing LED light would be a nice back up light. The description says it can be paired with more units and it's got tons of great reviews. It's over budget but it seems to fit the bill the best, now I just need to work up the guts to spend the money on it. lol

i am in the same boat as you. Cant make myself spend the money yet. Where/how do you intend to mount it?

I'm thinking I'd hang it from the rearmost cross bar of the roll cage. Having it at the rear would let me use that LED light feature as a back up light and probably light up the cargo area.

you need to pull the trigger and give us a review

Is it installed yet???

I'm really struggling with this. I want the bar Jeff suggested but the money.... I don't want to buy cheap junk that I'll have to replace in a year but I also keep thinking about a small list of things to get instead, THEN over the weekend I found some parts that (with a little machine work) would convert my problematic electric shift Dodge tcase (NV273) to manual shift. I've spent this budget 6 times over in my head, the struggle is real. :rotfl: :doah: :rotfl:

Have you pulled the trigger yet or still weighing options? Do you need a “permanent” solution? You could use some sort of bluetooth tailgate speaker and fab a mount that could hold it during wheeling, then when not wheeling, you can remove and use in the garage, or backyard or wherever. Just a though. Having a use for more than just when wheeling should help give you some more justification that the money is being wheel spent.

A multi purpose piece is appealing but I think I want something permanent in the Blazer (the rear facing LED is really cool too).

I’ve decided I want that $400 sound bar that Jeff suggested but I haven’t bought it. I’ve never prioritized stereo stuff (like don’t care if I even have a radio mindset), I’ve always been more interested in drivetrain parts etc so I’m struggling with buying it. I’m whining….
