This summer i would like to upgrade my stereo and speakers in my 85' 2 door C30. I was given a Jenson XA2250 500watt 2 CH bridgeable amp. I'm wondering what this amp can handle (one 12", two 10", etc...)? As for the location for the sub(s) and amp they will go between some bucket seats i plan on putting in this summer also. I think im going to put Infinity 3.5" speakers in the front corners and an infinity in the middle and run them off the head unit. Any suggestions on a head unit? For the back i think i'm going to run Infinity speakers in the stock corner locations and a sub(s) off the amp? Is this possible? As how to wire this stuff, there is local credible shop that i can ask later when i get closer to the install. I just want to know what head unit to get, what that head unit can handle and what my amp can handle  I don't know much about this stuff, so be nice :D. I just want something that sounds good and has some bass, nothing spectacular. Any info/ suggestions is appreciated. And thanks for dealing with another audio newbie:bow:

P.S. I don't want to put speakers in the kick panels or any other place, I just want to replace the stock ones. Thanks again

The amp should be able to handle either a 10 or 12, just depends on the brand. Ideally you want the amp rated to put out slightly more than the subs can handle, then you can adjust your gain down to prevent distortion. You could run one or two 10's without much of a difference, but two might be soft with that amp.

As for headunit, Pioneer, JVC, or Alpine are the ones I prefer. You just want something that has at least one pair of RCA jacks to connect to the amp.

In a cab that small, I would think that a single 10" Infinity sub mounted between the buckets would produce plenty of bass, without drowning out the rest or sounding boomy.

Oh and :waytogo: on the choice of Infinity, they produce some nice speakers.

I amnot sure if there are any differences in your c30 dash than a blazer bash . However the infinity 3.5s I bought . the kappa 32.7cf would not fit with out modification. so I abandoned that idea and went for the kick panel q logics listed in the other threads. I still have them in the box . will sell them for 50 plus shipping send a pm if your interested.

Lectric your right I love the infinity brand. very bright and accurate. love the sound quality.

As for head unit... invest a lil money there. you can get away with cheap but you wont get good sound quality. there are many brands that make a good head unit, but stay away from the low end if your going for quality.
Personally I picked the alpine CDA-9886 headunit . I like it alot and it sounds good. Plus the blue display matches my dakotal digital dash kit.lol

Lectric is again correct . you want one with a sub out rca . that way you can control the sub out put form the head unit and feed your amp.

Once again agreeing with lectric the jenson amp having 500 watts ( i am assuming peak power) might be a little light for much more than a single 10. and if your into rap or dance type music again might fall short.

but should be fine for a single 10 normal listening.

one other thought.. if you only use the 3.5 in the dash and a sub. you will be taking care of the higher frequencies and the low end . but nothing very strong in the middle and mid low areas. again it depends on your listening type and goals.

Thanks for the good info. I'll probably just go with one 10" (like 300, 400, or 500 watt?). I take it i should run all the speakers off the head unit and only the 10" sub off the amp, correct? Also, would i be getting my mids from the two rear speakers? Does anyone know the size of the two rear corner speakers and the single front middle speaker (in the dash)? And one last thing, i want a nice head unit but i can't afford to drop 200 bucks on one. Does anybody have anything bad to say about the Pioneer DEH-P3100UB? Thanks.

Rear corner speakers? In the dash? the dash side speakers are 3.5", and the middle is a 4x10 hole i think. I put inifinites in my dash, they bulge up the cover a little, but no big deal. Forget what series though.
