I will be restoring my Sun Visors soon and wanted to see if there was a trick or special method in removing the passenger mirror in the mid 80's Chev's.

I know I could mask it off, but I am thinking it would be a cleaner restoration if I could remove it a clean and paint the visor properly

In looking at parts dwgs it appears it pops into a receiver, but I do not want to take a chance in damaging my original sun visors for the restoration.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks !IMG_1060.JPGIMG_1058.JPG

???? Why does that look like a mirror that was added / held on with double sided tape?

Mine doesn't have it.... Don't recall it on a base model square body either.

Thinking run s knife between the mirror + visor

Fishing line might work.
I am not sure that is factory either.

WD-40 loosens sticky stuff pretty well

Yep it is factory ... I'm the original owner so I know it is without a doubt. Mine is factory on 1985 K5 Silverado Package.. The picture is from a 1983 Silverado Suburban which I pulled from the salvage yard to have an extra set.

I bet they are push nuts with tabs that grab plastic studs on mirror back.
A panel tool, being used very gently, work ea side a little at a time might do it.
