Super Swamper Thornbirds? Will I regret it?

+1 on not getting thornbirds. I bought my truck with em. They are pretty hard and have good tread left still but all are dryrotted. They are good for slinging mud all up the sides of your truck and throwing mud on top and in your windows so no down window action.

Also they are rediculous on the road with noise.

You can't go wrong with the TOYO tires. Good on road and very good off road. You will never regret spending that money. Just my 2 cents

Maybe you guys have had better luck with Toyos off road, I wheeled a cherokee with them and was not too impressed with them. Not to say they were bad, but about the same as every other mild type mud terrain I have wheeled.

I had a set of 35" thornbirds on 1 tons. Tried to tow a heavy boat in the summer. First trip out...tread seperated right in the middle of the tire. NTW ended up taking them back.

Some of my old pics. The F150 was shot by a friend of mine on a trail run. He said the guy couldn't get through any kind of mud without getting stuck and they eventually left the truck on the side of the trail so they could all continue on without having to drag him through everything. He threw plenty of mud but managed to make no headway.

The first shot is of my neighbor's old 'birds. Finally found a good use for them!

I've never owned a set. Never would. Everyone I know who owned a set ended up regretting the decision, badly!

I have however had Interco TrXus MT's. Yes, made by the makers of the Super Swamper (which yes, they are a variant of). They were flat out awesome tires. I sipe all my mud tires...except for those. I'd be running them now except I got a screaming deal on the radial muds I have on The Blazer.

I really appreciate all the advice here.

You guys saved me from the Thornturds.

My blazer was finished 2 days ago and I was finally able to get some pics in sunlight today.

I bought the TruXs MT's. Put them on new steel wheels instead of aluminum.

I also got 3 piece extended stainless steel brake lines, new front brake calipers and pads, shocks, steering stabilizer and had a hairline crack about .5 long crawling away from drivers rear shock mount welded.

Great choice, I have the same on my suburban. Those are a very well rated tire.
