Super swamper time

id love to go 36 but dont wanna lift it to much
its also used to it tow my 19ft boat
about 4 times a week in the summer
fix me up with what you think is best in a 35x12.5x15
will prolly be Jun before i have the money saved,
for the tires and rims,
just got laid off for a few weeks so,what little i had saved im using to live on now /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

<font color="green"> I'm a big fan of the BFG Mud Terrains, a buddy of mine got over 65k miles out of a set on a 3/4 ton Dodge with a Cummins. That's 7k lbs of truck, not bad for a mud tire! The new Goodyear MT/Rs are supposed to be a great tire too, and they look pretty aggressive. </font color>
 
I tow an 28' 8500 pound offshore boat with my 10" lifted dually on 42"ers with no problems to Lake Powell (550 miles) and Lake Mead (250 miles). Check on my photo album in my signature line for pictures.

Pro-Comp is also a good tire from reviews I've read...good call Steve.

I certainly would never consider a "Stuckbird" for anything...let alone towing something.

I have had pretty good luck with my 36"x12.5" TSL's though. For a bias tire they've done quite well and exceeded my mileage expectations. I even towed a 74 Blazer (rolling chassis, no drivetrain or interior) from San Diego to Vancouver BC with them.

Where is a good place to get cheap 36x12.50 r15 TSL's? How much do they go for?

$188.55 I hate to tell you to buy else where, but tires are heavy and might be a better option to buy local.
 
If you want a cheap and good tire that wears well and gives great performance on and off highway go witht the KUMHO Venture MT 35x12.50x15 from tire rack

$118 is the best price for that size and I have used them they are good.
 
By the way Shaggy, the thornbirds are good for what they were designed to do.
They are quite good on road if you didn't get an out of round tire (interco has a problem with that) and in dirt not slimy mud they have a great bite sideways, I have used them in rough terrain where you had deep ruts and rocky dirt, they work good.
They are not a tire for mud, and they don't do that well in snow, but they have a decent ride on road and rocks and dirt.

Up until now the only trait that I've heard people praise about them is that they make excellent planters. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif Maybe they would be OK if you got a round one, unfortuneately I don't think they make them that way. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif Personally I think that I'd rather get a tire that works equally well in the dirt, but lasts longer, works better on the street and doesn't blow goats in mud, snow and sand. I didn't say they are my first choice, but they aren't garbage like most people say.
First thing you should do with any interco tire is true them as in shave some to make them round, after that you balance them and you can get a decent ride.
I don't like any of them because they are too stiff for me, but the terrain I used them in was the perfect setup and they actually work, when you want more traction just seesaw and you will climb.
and on road they are quiet and smooth that is after you get them round.

My choice is still the Pro comp Xterrain for all around driving. They rock in all places, from sand to snow, to mud to rocks and dirt alike.
and they still look like the day I got them after 20000miles and lots of trails.
