Regarding part number #3040, what have you guys done to replace the TRE's? Superlift wants like $50 for EACH end. Part number for the end is #3040-1 and I don't want to pay $100 for two ends.
Anybody ever replace them? Have you had any luck with stock parts that can be had over the counter at your local Pep Girls?

Please help as I need to fix this without breaking the bank.

And no, don't want to do crossover on this truck. Its not mine. A customers.

Much as I hate to tell you, better go with Superlift's TRE's. I spent two hours going through every single box of TRE's at my local CarQuest a month back, looking for a TRE that would work--no luck.
I had bought a drop drag link from a member, and by the time he got it off, one of the ends was fubar'ed.
I ended up swallowing my pride, and getting one from Superlift.

Damn. Not quite the news I wanted to hear, but oh well. May have to do the same as you did.

Damn! Just checked out the ends on Superlifts site and they're now $66.55 each!!! :eek1: :eek1: :eek1: :doah:

And then, double damn!! The complete kit of the 4" dropped link kit #3040 on the Superlift site is now $222.94!!! :eek1: :eek1: :eek1:

I remember back in around '91 or '92, I bought this #3040 for only $150. Talk about price gouging now!

Now thats a steal! :eek1: For the whole thing at that price, Superlift wants around over $122-ish for just two of the DLE's. May as well get the "free" rod and clamps, too.

I got the $222 price off Superlifts site. Wow! Can't believe they're higher than retail dealers.

I'm watching one on eBay right now and its at like $20 right now. I'm gonna bid on this one.

Lets see what happens.
