Hey guys I am about to install my hydro assist finally and have a few questions about the ram. It has the ends like Kid Jethros and the one end needs to be cut and re welded. How did you all cut and re weld this piece?

Also the end attached to the piston rod, does it move? What I mean is, does it spin around in the cylinder? I can't get it to budge and I have only heard of folks having to cut and turn the one end.

Also, I have read somewhere since it does not use heims that you have to be careful when you setup the mounts, due to the movement of the tie rod.

Thanks for any help......I hope to start this next weekend:D

I used a cutoff wheel on a grinder, and cut the tube off of the end of the ram body, then turned 90 degrees, squared up, rewelded. Yes, the shaft turns inside the body.
