suspect starter.......

My '91 Suburban has a remanufactured Autozone starter on it. I put it on about a year and a half ago. Sporatically, lately sometimes when I get in the truck and turn the key everything comes on and works except the starter. Cable and connections are good.

I've had to get under it and get the starter to spin by jumping it with a pair of plyers

Is this the sign of a bad solenoid?

i'd have it tested. if you can get the starter to spin, then it's most likely the solenoid.

I had the same thing happen a few years back on my 90 Burb. Ended up being the soleniod, but getting it tested is the best thing to do.

It may also be a neutral safety switch. If it does it again shift it in and out of park a few times, or try starting it in neutral.
