I am in the process of installing a ubolt flip from ORD and I also have some ORD zero rates. I am planning and piecing a lift for later this fall, but i had to go ahead with the ubolt replacment because an ear broke off the saddle under the axle.

The trouble I am having is trying to figure out what I currently have on the truck to know where to go with it. I've had the truck 6 years or more, the previous owner moved it here to Indiana from Colorado. The truck easily runs 33 X 12.50 X 15 tires, where as I have seen others on this forum needing lift to get 33s on. Also my truck seems to just sit taller than some of the stock rig pics I have seen here.

the rear leaf springs packs have 6 total leafs (4 thin leafs and bottom 2 are quite a bit thicker)

The front is not a complete negative arch, but something like a "W" shape with 3 total leafs (2 thin and 1 thick overload)

Part of me wants to buy new and know what I have, but another says why buys parts if you may already have them.

Sorry, I've always wanted to use that icon. :haha:

I think add-a-leafs typically add 2" of lift.

What if I took out one of two bottom leafs in the rear spring packs and add the ORD zero rates? Do you think that would soften up the rear and retain height?

Yes it would - Ive done it.

Take out the AAL - looks to be second from bottom on rear and replace with a Zero Rate will def soften the ride and retain height.

Don't get an aluminum one, get steel if you can.

From the pic it looks like you have a small degree shim under the rear pack is that right? If so you could grab a taller shim instead of a zero rate and replace the existing one.

AAL?

yes, there is a slight pinion shim, when I torque it all up, I am going to do a driveline analysis to see why it's there and if I need it. the ORD zero rate is steel and has a new centering pin too.

well, I took out the leaf second from the bottom and put the zero rate in; however I lost at least 2 inches of height. I am going to put it back the way it was so I can wheel this weekend and then I will start again. I think I will go with what I currently have (4 leafs, NO AAL, an overload and the zero rate) and combine it with a shackle flip...and Tuff Country 2" in the front also with a zero rate.

Awesome Blazer Rob! Can you post a picture of your rear leaf brackets? My brackets are really messed up. The guy I bought my blazer from hacked them up and I'm trying to see if my k10 will fit. Sorry dont mean to hijack.
