What options are there for inexpensive lifts for the front? Only 2-3".
Can I do an AAL for the front springs?

The truck will not see any hard wheeling (articulation not important) with this set up, the lift is just for a little more ground clearance and to fit 35s.

most major spring companies make a 2-3" lift. i have a 2.5" skyjacker on my '89. cheapest small setup would use a 2" spring up front, 2" block in rear. DO NOT reuse your ubolts.

cheapest option? Buy used. Bought my front lift and rear blocks for $75 off a local board. Only reason the guy sold the lift was to go bigger. Yeah and get new ubolts.

Used is the way I will try and go, however there is no certainty anyone will be selling a spring to fit me used, so I was checking to see what newer options were.

There are no problems ion the front running AALs? The front spring is so flat I figured I would check before I did something dumm like. lol.

new U bolts are a must.

Whats a fair price to see new 2-3" lift springs price out at? IIRC 6" are about $100 a each?

You will really need to go at least 4" if you want to run 35's and not tear up the back of your front fenders bad. Still might rub a little with 4"

You mean I bought all these sawzall blades for nothing?:wink1:

I need to "cure some cancer" on the truck anyways.
Nothing a 1" body lift cant fix if I still have rubbing.

Do I need a specific AAL from a manufacturer, Or can I use an OEM leaf out of a different pack?

No you will need a 2" AAL or it will not arch the factory spring to got you the lift.

if you're not worried about cutting a little, a 2" lift will fit 35s. like i said, i have the 2.5" skyjackers. i originally had 33s on there and they fit fine. i went up to 35's when the 33s wore out and they rubbed a little. unfortunately, i have a rust problem too. the tires cleared out what they needed the 1st time i went off road w/ them.

Final question: How long will these springs hold thier lift? Ive read some can end up looing all their shape and lift characteristics fairly soon.
