Ok so I have an 80 K5 that is running 33 X 12.50 15's, and some of my friends are saying that it has been lifted, others are saying it is stock. Is there any way to tell if it is running the stock springs? I am only asking because the rear springs are about shot, and I really like the current ride height, and want to replace the rear springs soon.

Let's face it, I have a family and really can't afford to order some springs tear it apart and find out they are wrong. Right now it has 6 leaf rears, that one of the PO pounded some steel wedges into to help with the saggy butt it was developing. Since I tow with it, I really don't think the 4" lift is going to be real safe, plus it would make it harder for the wife and kids to get in and out. Not to mention that the wife says that I can't spend the money right now, something about getting the kids school clothes or something. So any help with determining the right springs to order would really help here.

chances are its a 4 inch lift if the tires dont rub at all... a 4 inch lift if perfectly safe... i got one im yanking out my blazer here that ill sell you cheap if interested with all parts to replace... only 3k on all of it... might just be a bit pricey to ship it

I don't want a vacation from this site, so I hope to not get into trouble with the mods here. What is your e-mail addy and we can take this offline to discuss.

You can fit 33's under a stock suspension with little problem.

If you are interested in whether your rig has been lifted or not, measure some significant points on your rig (front or rear bumper mounts), post them back up here and see what other CK5 members have to say.

[email protected]..... i hope im not doing anything wrong eather... sorry if i cannt do that it wont happen again

That is what I thought. I will get some measurements when I get home later today. I know the rear is sagging a little but I will measure out the front bumper mount points and see where we are at. I know my buddy is running 33's on his 79 but he has had his springs re-arced so there is no telling how high he really is. I know that mine sits a bit higher, but I have MT's versus his AT's.

Bogginboy, yeah offers to buy or sell stuff in the garage is strictly prohibited so we try to avoid it. And you have mail.

I have an 85 K5 and it had 33's on it when i bought it. Someone did cut about a half of an inch off the back of the wheel well on the front axle but I never came close to rubbing and it was a stock suspension.

sorry for whos ever toes i stepped on it wont happen again... ive been away from this forum for sometime.. im checking my mail now on a second note

Yeah it is kind of hard to tell from my avatar but there is nearly 6 inches over the top of the tires on the front fenders, and no where that I am going to rub. I know that the front fenders were replaced before I bought mine as they are the only body panels without rust, but the rear springs are going to be the first to get replaced. May add some zero rates as well.

ya... i got a 4 inch lift on the blazer right now with 35s under it with no ru b at all... its worth it to keep it but i have no need for it as im going bigger
