hey guys I need to pick everyones brain for a bit. I have a really great girlfriend who loves to go wheeling with me, but she has back problems, so after wheeling sometimes its pretty damn sore or she can't go at all someday's because the pain is to much.

Right now my k5 has a 6" lift w/ super lift springs front/zero rate and rear stock springs/zero rate and shackle flip. Also just some pro comp 3000series shocks. and stock seats. If i was to upgrade the shocks as well as to suspension seats do they seem to help with back problems? I know its not suspension seats like a semi truck but something with more give than stockers? do you guys have any recommendations? Thanks a lot!

I have back problems as well and can chime in here. My 78 GMC truck still has the stock bench seat which kills my back after a while of driving, but the limited travel suspension probably doesn't help. I have Beard suspension seats in my baja bug and I can drive all day and feel fine. The extra support is well worth the cost and effort of installing suspension seats.

Not sure how much $$ and effort you'd be willing to spend on your truck, but if you softened the suspension and bought good seats it would make a big difference.

Superlift springs are stiff as hell. A good soft spring like a BDS or a tuff Country E-Z-ride would help as much as the seat.

As far as seats go I have Corbeau Baja Ultra's. I love them. They do make a difference in how tired I feel after a long day of riding.

I don't care what you do to make the ride softer, nothing beats a good set of suspension seats. I couldn't believe the differense. Both my wife and I have back problems. I had mine operated on in 1999.

ah this is great news guys thanks a ton! My truck is still a DD so i need seats that are pretty easy to get into and out of. Cost wise i would swing a few hundred bucks a seat i want her to be comfy as possible so she will enjoy it that much more. Makes lives for everyone easier and more fun that way.

What seats do you guys recommend?

I have a nice set of new PRP competition high backs. I have spent days in mine at a time. Love them. Now for the new set. I can not use them. Problem is they are $400 a piece. I could cover shipping though.

Ya nice ride digging the walker rims have not seen any on a k5 yet street lok or real locks

I've been running them for almost 3 years, and they are beadlocks. If I ever buy new rims for the tow rig they will be the street version. The seats are PRP comp high backs.

I'm going with PRP Daily Drivers.
I sit in a PRP competition high back seat and my wife rides in a PRP Daily Driver and they both work great. The Daily Driver is hands down easier to get in and out of and it still has the support of the other seat.

I just posted a thread on recovering my high back seat, that's a nice advantage to these seats. Everytime I carry one of those seats, I'm amazed at how light they are.
