I’m looking for a good 4” lift. Leaf springs. Front and rear. Shocks included. I’m not made of money. But I’m not going rough country. I want quality. I’ve heard BDS a lot. And Eazy Ride? I’m doing moderate off road but want it to be be ok on the pavement too. I understand the best of both worlds doesn’t exist. Just curious what else may be out there.

Also. As far as steering goes, I have a raised arm as I had a 6” or so lift on. But I swapped for some 4” and it’s binding now. What’s the best way to remedy this? Is it time for cross over?

On a 4" or less stock steering arm works best.
The raised ones work from 6" and higher.
In my experience.
As for springs the cheapest I believe will be tough country which is not related to rough country and a lot better.
Next up is BDS off the shelf.
Then the custom that ORD offers which I believe is made by BDS.
And shocks it's not worth skimping it's only a few bucks more to get the bilstein.
The higher the more money you pay the better the ride but even the lowest 5000 series is better than all the competition

you may have had a dropped pitman too.

Stock

drop
you want a slight slope down from pitman to steering arm.

I am running 4ish inch lift and a raised steering. haven't had any steering issues, but am pushing the boundaries now with 37's.

I currently have 4" Tuff Country HD on my K20 suburban, they ride fairly well. My truck is heavy. I find tire air pressure has a huge effect on ride. Can't speak to BDS haven't any experience with them

There are so many threads on this here, so you can glean a lot of information. Since your situation is very common, all of this has been laid out, discussed and analyzed many times before. You need to educate yourself on the slippery slope of mods and what you're able/willing/wanting to do. With a lift comes driveline issues and one of the best fixes favors a shackle flip over lift springs. A lift also tends to precede bigger tires, which means a gearing change is needed. Go in with eyes wide open and set your plan for the finished product, not intermediate steps.

Not sure what the current price tag on ORD springs is, I think I paid ~$800 for each set ( front and back sets)? about 2 years ago, they were cheaper pre covid, like everything else. Point is with the ORD springs and bilstein shocks it is a really nice ride. Can’t imagine one could do any better sticking with leaf springs.

He is dropping from 6 to 4, so hopefully the driveshaft issues are already dealt with except possibly the angles

I just upgraded my rear axle and swapped out bushing for ORD bushings with bilstein shocks . The ride is great!
