I am about to put a 6 inch tough country susp lift on my 72' Jimmy need to know will I have to change anything to acomidate the new angle for the rear drive shaft. What are the benefits of moving my tie rod up above the differential as opposed to it being in the front. and if I go with a 1" body lift will I have to Make any mod's to the steering shaft such as lengthening it.

nope, no mods to steering with just one inch of body. i did the same 6 inch tuff country on my 88 and it is driveable. both shafts need to be lengthened a little but they both work. i have a little bit of vibration coming from the rear. i did the 4 inch shackle flip out back which helped with pinion angle so you might look into that.
