What would be some possible problems that I will run into by swapping an '86 350 thats currently mated to a SM465 into an '84 K5 that has a 305/700r4? I'm keeping the 700r4. would there be any problems as far as parts not matching up, 'cause I thought that I had heard somewhere that swapping motors newer than 85 into 84 and older would not be just a basic switch, is that true? I would really like to get that 305 outta there soon!! thanks

Know any GOOD Wheelin' in Northwest Jersey, let me know?

You will need a flexplatel from an '86 or newer motor, as they are different from the older style ('86 and newer blocks use one piece rear main seals). The flexplates are not too expensive. Other than that, I can't think of any real problems. I have an '87 motor in my '83, using the original '83 700R4. The donor truck had a manual.
