Truck currently has an electronic 6.5 with turbo on on it. How much work to swap a stock 6.2 longblock in and use the 6.5 parts, will this even work?

Easy swap...put all the intake, IP, turbo stuff on top of the 6.2 and call it a day. Prolly want to swap the 6.5 injectors to the 6.2 as well.

Make sure to swap your timing cover and complete timing set over to the new engine as well, lower timing gear has the reluctor ring and timing cover has the crank sensor or whatever reads off the ring for your ESS
