Do you have fuel pressure?

I can only assume so since he said that once it gets started it runs great.

I can venture a few guesses though:

1) get a scanner and see if your CTS is functioning properly...fuel dumped in at startup is largely based on how hot the ECM perceived the engine to be
2) does your fuel pump run when you turn the key on? If not could be a wiring or ECM problem, the fuel pump should "prime" once the key is in the on position
3) does the engine start after cranking for long enough, or do you always have to pour a little gas or use some ether?
4) how is the injection spray pattern off the TBI?

Make sure you wired the ecm to a live for cranking and running. Easy mistake and it'll do exactly what your saying.

Check your wiring for the injectors. Make sure they are wired to a be on when cranking and when running. It is fairly common mistake to wire them to a source that is only on when the key is in "on", not in "start".

FUEL PUMP!

Make sure you have your fuel pump kicking on in the start and run position. I had the same issue, with fuel in the tbi it would start, but if I did not pour anything down there it would just crank. Moved the fuel pump positive wire to the fuel relay on the harness. I was bypassing it cuz atfirst I was not getting power from it. Then I figured out I didnt have the injector loop powered and when I fixed that it fixed the fuel pump relay not getting power.

thanks guys

thanks for all the help you guys were right on the money once again thankyou for the help

Cool, I love orange and white color schemes. I drove a burnout machine, 76 c-20 14bFF. We called it the dreamsickle. :haha: :haha: :haha: I love those colors on anything. The coolest!
