swaping a t400 to t350?

i have 79 gmc k2500 it has the turbo 400 203 case in it now i want to put a turbo 350 and 203 in it will it work with no problem??i was thinking the 400 was a couple inches longer

It is, but why do you want to do this, to make it shorter or because you don't like how strong the th400 is.
You do realize the 203 behind your th400 is not the same as the one behind a th350 so you will need to get the 203 with the th350.
Again WHY?

i just bought a 77k10 with a good running small block 400 it has the turbo 350 and 203 it all works good i was just gona put in all in my 79 k20 until i can find a good turbo 400 the one in it now is bad and its not a k case. i got the truck for 400 bucs that why i am thinking of swaping it over for now i am cheapbut you just talked me out of it i am gona just wait and find a good t 400 and do it all at one time

what engine do you have? Is it stock? The TH400 is a great trans,but it creates more heat than a TH350,plus it takes more hp to operate. I'd say if you're running a small block, then go for the TH350,they are a strong trans. Good Luck.

In that case yeah go ahead do it.
I would do it too intimes like this when money is scarce and I have something on hand that I know is good.
