Looking for some info on swapping the ring and pinion in my V2500 ‘Burb (TBI 350/TH400/208/10 bolt/14 bolt). It’s got the stock 3.73’s in it right now. It did okay on 33’s, but I recently stepped up to 35’s and I’m really feeling it. My questions are as follows:

What are some of the gear ratio’s you guys have run?

Who are some reputable suppliers?

Any other nuggets of info that some of you vets can pass on to a newbie?

I'm pretty happy with the 4.56 I just installed, but I have a manual tranny with 35's. If I had an auto, I would have stuck with 4.10's.

x2 4.56. i ran 3.73s then 4.10s and honestly there isnt much difference. but 4.56s feel way better. i did 4.10s because i didn't have to swap gears i just upgraded to 3/4 ton axles. if i were you i would go just a little lower than 4.56s if theres even a possibility of running bigger tires in the future

4.56 is were its at with O/D. With the 400 though you might want to stay 4.10. All depends on your use for the truck. Ive ran as high as a 3.23 with 37's, crap in town, but great above 55, thats with no O/D. Again, use of the truck is what you should decide by.

It’s the wife’s daily, so it’s primarily a grocery getter/kid taxi/camp wagon with some occasional weekend wheeling. It’d be nice to have a little more get-up-and-go when the light turns green.
