i started the rear swap on my blazer tonight. 30 minutes to get the 10 bolt out. started bolting the 14 bolt ff in and found out my u-bolts will not work. they are too small. can't find any around here at oreillys or advanced. also need plates for top. where can i get them? also i need a ujoint for the rear drive shaft. i know there are some part numbers on here but does anyone know what i would need to get one from advanced auto parts? i usually buy the brute force ujoints. i tried to attach my 8 inch extended stainless braided line and found out the block is different and will not work unless i use the one from my 10 bolt. tried to remove the brake lines from the block and also from the drums trying to just swap lines from my 10 bolt and couldn't get lines loose. actually stripped the brake lines. they are 3/8. any advice on how to get them off the block or out of the drums? any help is appreciated. need to get it done in the morning and out of the middle of the driveway. i also removed my shims from my 6" bds spring packs. always had problems with breaking u joints even with transfer case lowered with kit. anyone know what shim to run. i've got an angle finder but if i knew something close to run it would be easier to just put them on now before the axle is bolted up. thanks guys.

I feel for 'ya, I ran into all the same stuff when I swapped the stock 12bolt for a 14bolt ff in my old K5. My SS brake line worked tho, probly because I had an earlier truck(pre-metric). Converion u joint & i was in buisness! I don't have PN's but was going to suggest simply hitting up your local wrecking yard, usually stuff like u bolts & top plates fall into the "uhhh, how 'bout 5 bucks?" catergory.

i'm glad i'm not the only one that is kinda thing happens too. i read so many posts on here and never saw anything about u bolts needing replaced. didn't even think about it but it makes since being the axle tube is bigger. hoping to have it worked out tomorrow morning. plan on calling the offroad shops first thing and should be in business. everyone on here has been awesome. i figured i would ask here first and save me some time.
