Last time I brought this up I was told its pretty simple. Cover, couple snap rings and pull it out.

So I took the input cover off. Took off both snap rings, popped the bearing out and went to pull the input out. Well it seems an awful lot like the case needs to be split to pull the input out.

Its not really a big deal but I'd just like to be sure where I'm going with this now...

Alright so I found an exploded diagram of the case. Its gotta be split, I knew that was coming. The question is can I split the case without pulling the tail shaft housing/SYE off the back half?

The reason I ask is because I just replaced the seals on both outputs and would like to not mess with them.

Ya. The tail tail housing is 2 pieces. Thake the back piece off first. Remove snap ring. Unbolt other half and slid off. Then split the case. here is also 2 snap rings that hold the speed sensor ring in place. You have to remove both rings and the wheel.

Yeah I'll either do it tomorrow or wed. Its not a huge deal. I take it the 2 snap rings under the front seal I took off needed to come out anyway?

Well I split the case today and swapped the input. It wasnt that bad. The case seems to be really simple to rebuild as I've heard.

I made the typical moving too fast mistakes...

Put the half back on and forgot the shifter rod spring...

Took it apart cleaned it again and resiliconed it.

Put it back together and thought the pump was suppose to be inside the case...

Took it apart, cleaned it again, resiliconed it again and then realized that its doesnt ****in go inside the case....

Got it together in the end and the tone ring back on. Still gotta put the SYE tail on it, seal retainer and the front input cover...
