ok so ive always liked the look of the 70's front clips better than the 80's one. how hard is it to do a swap. i know the fenders, hood, grill, and that place where the vents are has to be changed. so is this possible? what work isinvolved?

Good call -- I prefer the 73-80 clips, especially the 73-77ish, myself.

You'll have to do the reverse of

radiator support would need to be swapped as well, IIRC. The good thing is that a whole front clip for the old style will only set you back $100-150 if you troll Craigslist, as nobody wants the old ones, only the new stuff ;)

The whole clip can be swapped pretty easily. Going from new to old, get the whole clip, and wiper train and you should be set, direct bolt on.
If you have quad headlights, you will have to mess with the wiring a bit to have high and low beam in onej 3 wire connector.
