I have a SM465 and a 208. I want a 241 so I can get the lower gear and the SYE adapter. If I find one behind another 4 speed will it be a direct bolt on?

Also you would want one with a mechanical speedo. They came ONLY in 1989 models. I have a swapped in 241 and like it.

Super Short kit has speedo setup just only if you have a factory electric speedo.

Do you have a problem with alot of rear flex slipping the yoke out to far? If not I personally don't think it is worth the time and money to swap to a 241. The .11 extra gear reduction is basically worthless in terms of crawl.

Unless your 208 is broken or you slip out your slipyoke I would keep the 208.

If you are needing to get the 241 you need on from behind a TH400 or SM465. They will bolt up in place of a 208 without any mods I believe.

shift arms on a 241 vs a 208 are different. Tork has a fix, just cut the 241 arm and turn it 90 degress and bam it works. Its just some different mounting between the two that makes one not work.

241 is a little better since you can do a easy SYE and it has a better oiling system but if have to do alot searching to get one to work with your tranny then it wouldnt be much worth it.
