Swapping engines?

I have an 88 suburban tbi and Im going to swap out the engine from a 93 truck with serp. My problem is I just noticed that the engine from the 93 has no smog pump. Not equiped in that year and my 88 has a smog pump. Can I run the engine without pump and pass cali. smog or can I swap out that bracket with one off an astro van I have access too. Astro van has smog pump and serp. will it fit?

depends on where you go, some shops won't say anything,

but the law is, your vechicle must have all the smog eguipment required for the year of your vechicle..no matter what engine is in..
