Got a questions in regards to swapping in a NP241. I have a 74 Jimmy all stock with he exception of the part time conversion kit on the 205. I got a 241 from a 89 1500 the other day as eventually I would like to swap in the 241, 700r4, 14bb ff and dana 44 up front and tbi. My questions is one, will this drop in fairly easily, linkage, speedo cable, ect or do i need to do some fab work for it. Secondly, does anyone have some info or links for some additional info? I've tried searching but haven't really found everything I was looking for.

Thanks

th350 tranny now has short 4x4 tail shaft for 203 and 205 tcase.

th350 was low production 1-2 years basicly with 208 tcase for correct tail shaft you would need to swap in the 241 tcase now.

and if 241 is from a 88-up body style truck it will not work unless you use a ford axle with driver side pumkin . 88-up used left side / drivers drop tcase. our 87-older truck and 91-older blazer/ suburban/crew cabs used pass side / right hand drop tcase.

and 205 is gear drive case and factyory part time tcase 2hi/4hi/n/4low the 203 was full time case and chain drive and had lock positions in shift pattern.

700r4 will swap in place and linkage hook up fine at tranny but tcase shifter diffrent parts and hole in floor . also need 85-91 old body style crossmember as yours in 73-84 is flat and 85-91 is arched up for shorter adaptor foot leg.

drive shafts need modifyed for length changes .

not trying to make you spend cash but best 25 bucks you will spend is info here that can be seen and found faster as a paid member.

Cool thanks, yep got the wrong tcase has a driver side drop, didn't even think about that. Well live and learn, may be have to invest in the membership. Thanks again

Really, who makes the kit for that? I that the doubler was only for a 203/205 didn't know i could use a 241. For my use a doubler would be overkill, but would just be good info to have. TheBeast_88K5 i'll PM you
