Alrighty, I got my 465 ready-n-rarin to go in and I decided to keep my 208 for the time being. Now the 208 I have came behind a 700 so I assume it has a 27 spline input. The 465 I have has a 32 spline output.

Kinda like a square peg in a round hole... /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif

Anyway, did 208s(or 241's for that matter) that came behind 465s have a 32 spline input? What are my options? Should I just swap out the 27 spline input in the 208 for a 32 spline? /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

I'm leaning toward finding a 241 for the lower gear and the SYE kit....

Thanks, y'all.... /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

208s AND 241s came in 32 spline versions. I have one of each(both in use sorry). You can probably just go get an input gear from a GM dealer that is 32 spline and tear the case down and swap in the gear. Give you a chance to rebuild the case too. Or you could get a Th400 NP203, its an option anyway. I think a 241 with 32 spline is a harder piece to find. I lucked out big time. I bought an 89 3/4 ton burb that the original owner(1 owner vehicle not counting me) optioned with a 465. I quickly yanked the 241 and put it in my K5 /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif and put the 208 from my K5 in the burb. I was hunting for one before that and unable to locate the part. If I were you I'd buy a 241 from behind a 700R4 and swap input gears. Best option in my opinion, mainly cause its the option I chose /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

How much do you think the dealer would rape me for an input shaft. I like the idea of getting the 700 241 and just swapping inputs, easier in the long run... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I really have no clue, never looked into it, just a suggestion I was given when in search of a 241. I think the best option is 241 and easiest is 700R4 241. But thats my opinion, if you ever decide to go with a doubler, you will have about the strongest doubler setup available /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif.

Decisions, decisions....I also have a slip-yoke 205 that I could use, but I'd rather have the lower gear of the 241 for now... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

465, 241 and 5.13s in my k5 = real poor mans doubler /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Input gears swap very easy on the 208 and 241. You don't need to dis-assemble the case at all...

32 spline inputs for 208's were found behind every 465 and TH400 application.

If you go 241 the same applies, plus the IFS rigs used a 32 spline iput for the POS 5 speed version which was really common.

No idea what the input gear is worth from the stealership though. I sold a 32 spline iput for a 241 for $40 though /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif

I will look I may be able to rustle one up for you. Know someone with a driver side drop 241 from a POS 5 speed IFS rig sitting around.

don't forget about the adaptor for whatever case you end up running.

i had a hard time finding one for my 465/208 that last time i replaced it.

DAMN! I almost sh!t a brick! So guess I'm gonna swap the input on my 208....Anybody got a 32 spline 208 input? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Lots of TH400/208 combo's out there...someone must have one for ya Corby.
