hi all I just purchased a 406 shortblock for a really really good price. I wasnt even planning on purchasing it, but o well. anyways the engine is a 2 bolt 400, .030 over kb pistons 22cc dish, plasma molly rings, eagle 5.7 sir rods, .010 ground crank. has new cam bearings, and was honed with a torque plate. Not too bad for $150! anyways I am thinking of taking my 350ho crate motor apart and using the heads and other misc part on it. I think this would make for an awesome torque motor. by the way the engine has to come out anyways to replace the rear seal. Thisnk the 400 would run well with these parts, If I can get some extra money saved up maybe I will put a little bigger cam in.

depends if Vortec heads can be drilled for steam holes, I really don't know that myself.
